Ann Privateer

Shifting

the curious instant
that murmurs
towards love
on the day
before living.

Thresholds

Serenity beached
Clovis and Clotilde
marry, set up
a country, chosen
like our core
caring, my brilliant
friend who seems
the perfect party
beaming our way
alas and alack.

Carbazole Violet

a scarf thrown
to look disheveled
around the neck
newer than
the shirt it masks
worn and wiry
lost and found
all in a nights work.
